Steel Fabrication

CIS also offer steel fabrication and manufactures structural steel structures, mainly for the support of electrical equipment  in substations and is a preferred  supplier of Structural steel to Eskom.

The company has in house design facilities and can design and manufacture certified structures, i.e. sheds, warehouses etc, to suit customers’ requirements.

Structures are produced in a well equipped fabrication facility, specializing in this type of products, by means of modern CNC punching, cropping and drilling machines.

Civil crews are available to cast suitable foundations for the structures and arrangements can be made to deliver, assemble and erect the steel structures by qualified and certified erectors.

Should clients require non standard structures, CIS will manufacture according to the clients’ drawings and specification.

CIS Engineering boasts ISO 9001-2008 certification for welded manufacturing, is able to do Pedinghaus computer numerically controlled drilling on base plates,  flanges, beams and columns; bending of polygonal poles with a plate thickness of up to 20 mm and a length of up to 11,5 meter in one complete section; plasma cutting up to 45 mm and oxy-cutting up to 300 mm; and automated submerged arc welding up to 2,4 meter in diameter.
